I’ve finally begun to work through the anime openings of this season with Kinky (we watch every damn one of those things), and so far this has been a pretty hellish season. Sure a few standouts made the list but overall it’s a ton of boring, repetitive selections. One OP caught our attention due to the strangely great animation. Strange of course because the anime itself appeared to be pretty lewd. I felt a great duty to investigate further, so I skimmed through the episode and found the gem pictured above. Forgetting about the ecchi, I immediately realized I’ve gone way too long on the blog without tackling this topic.

Locking the door. We all do it, am I right? There are no savages amongst us? Discounting situations where you’re home alone of course. First I should come clean and say I myself hardly ever lock the bathroom door, but that’s because I’ve only ever lived with one parent at a time. It’s pretty obvious to tell when I'm in there as I always turn the light on and I can never remember a time where there was an unexpected viewing that mattered. Of course the college dorms were a different story. That shit got locked anytime, everytime just on the off chance that someone tried to come in. The same goes for anytime I’m at a family gathering or public space. Sure there are moments where you’re pretty sure you’re gonna have the bathroom all to yourself, but I never even take the risk. Yet in anime, this trope is pretty common. Some anime sister is ALWAYS either taking a shower without drawing the curtain, or in this case using the toilet without bothering to lock the door. And to that I say: dammit it’s their own fault. If they didn’t previously warn everyone they were about to use it, then locking the door should be a top priority. Too often the protagonist is somehow blamed for being pervy while it’s their own carelessness that led to the unfortunate viewing. Well, unfortunate for the MC, very fortunate for the audience I suppose.

I’ll admit it’s a bit of a weird topic, but I’m interested to hear if you guys always lock that shit, sometimes lock it, or if you enjoy gambling in the most dangerous games. Are you watching Onimai: I’m Now Your Sister!... ay wait a minute I might have to do an article dedicated to finding out whatever the fuck this anime is actually about. How do you handle the bathroom door dilemma? Sit down on the toilet, start your business, and feel the fear creep in as you realize you forgot to lock the door! But surely no one will want to use it at the exact same time as you with a family of five, right?
