STOP SPOILING ANIME FOR ME CRUNCHYROLL!!!
By ImJustThatKinky • 11 months ago

I’ve talked about this before in another article, but I just wanted to say it completely without any filler. CRUNCHY!!! You got to do better!!! I expect this kind of behavior from little Jimmy who’s just starting his upcoming anime Youtube channel. But I don’t expect this from my source of all things anime. I’m a busy man with a busy life. I don’t want to be hit with spoilers every single time I want to listen to the brakence album while I’m working.

SPOILER ALERT!!! This album is a banger.

Also, if you haven’t figured it out by now, this article will contain spoilers for Gundam: Witch of Mercury, Blue Lock, Buddy Daddies, and Tomo-chan is a Girl. And WITCH OF MERCURY!!! Is the one that I’m getting spoiled on the most. I was able to avoid Witch of Mercury Season 1 spoilers, but it’s been almost impossible for me to avoid Season 2 spoilers. Twitter is already bad when it comes to spoilers, but I expect more from Crunchyroll.

Damn, didn't know that this show had some many betrayal. Thanks alot Crunchy.

I know they do this to get people interested and to show off big moments from the respected shows, but when you just pretty much spoil big plot points, I see this more as just turning people off from the show, since the surprise is gone from new viewers. It’s usually with the titles of the videos. Take these two Blue Lock videos.

The titles tell too much. If you make the title “Where’s Kunigami?” I’m just always going to be keeping an eye on Kunigami and what’s going to happen to him. When the title is “Rin Picks Isagi” I know that Rin’s team is the one who wins the match, and also know that they pick Isagi instead of any of the other members. I feel like the title could have been better with something more vague, like “Where is he?” or “The Final Pick”. It tells enough, without telling the whole story. A title that I think they did well was with Buddy Daddies.

Not telling too much, but telling enough to peak someone's interest. It tells you that the show has killing in, and that someone is about to be killed, and that the person has  killed before. But with a lot of people having killed someone before in the show, it can be a number of people, so it’s still pretty open ended. With the Blue Lock and Witch of Mercury examples, it feels like someone who isn’t in tune with the anime community and how wack spoilers are is in charge of the YouTube channel. I can’t see a real anime fan thinking these titles are okay. Like damn, I hope the ending of Tomo-chan is a Girl doesn’t get SPOILED for me.

GOT DAMN IT CRUNCHY!!! Now I know Tomo-chan is a Girl!!! Unless he's just gay.

Do you think Crunchyroll should be more careful with their titles? Do you think spoilers are fair game nowadays? Do you think that brakence album is a banger? Tell us in the comments.
