Shirobako Sequel Movie Announced
By ImJustThatKinky • 5 years ago

For everyone who has been waiting for that season 2 of Shirobako, well…you’ll still have to wait, but that doesn’t mean there’s no alternative because P.A. Works has announced that a Shirobako movie is in the works and it’s a sequel project.

It may not be the 24 episode season 2 that everyone has been asking for but at least it’s not one of those compilation movies and actually builds on the series further. This was revealed on Saturday at the Musashi-Sakai x Shirobako Harumatsuri event in Tokyo. P.A. Works has stated that they are starting production but no set release date has been announced.

There has also been confirmation that the original staff will be returning, such as director Tsutomu Mizushima, scriptwriter Michiko Yokote, character designer Ponkan8, animation character designer Kanami Sekiguchi, and production company Infinite. And the staff at the event has said that the “story will continue”, which has to mean story progression right…RIGHT!

Now I’ve never watched Shirobako, (yeah I know a grave sin. I’m not a real anime fan if I’ve never watched Shirobako) the reason for that is because I was hoping for an English dub (yeah I know again, you’re not a real anime fan if you listen to English dubs) since it was done by Sentai Filmworks but that never came to be. But with this sequel movie being announced, maybe I should give up on the dub and find some time to watch Shirobako.

What do you think of Shirobako? Are you okay with a movie or would you rather 24 episodes? Should I watch Shirobako? Tell us in the comments below.
