Over 100,000 People Ask Netflix to Bring Back Cowboy Bebop
By Yung Namahage • 2 years ago

Netflix never gave an official reason for canning last year's doomed attempt at a live-action series, but we all know the real reason: hell hath no fury like a nerd scorned. With all those changes to the source material it wouldn'tve caught on even if they actually hired semi-competent writers.

But changes or not, some people still liked it for one reason or another. One such fan is Ryan Proffer, who started a Change.org petition for Netflix to have another crack at it. He says, “For those people who want a second (or more) of the live action Cowboy Bebop. It wasn’t a direct copy of the anime but the world they put together was amazing and deserves a second season." So far over 100,000 people seem to agree and added their names to the petition.

After the cancelation, co-executive producer Javier Grillo-Marxuach claimed there was some "cool shit planned" for the show's next season, possibly taking inspiration from the Knockin' on Heaven's Door anime movie. That cool shit probably won't see the light of day at this point, but in the past shows that were once canceled like Nashville and The Expanse have been brought back following petitions, so never say never.

Will you be signing the petition? Do you think Netflix would have a chance of salvaging it if they gave it another shot? Sound off in the comments!
