A little while ago I talked about the censorship that were seen in the MapleStory 2 global beta. Things like costumes and NPCs were altered compared to it’s Korean counterpart. With fans voicing there worries about these changes, the game’s community manager Cuddles came out with a statement:
We noticed there were discussions regarding the item models of the game, with some players wondering which item models we will be using for our service. We can confirm today that our version of MapleStory 2 will be using the original versions from the Korean MapleStory 2.
With the fans seeming to win with their cries for no censorship, it begs the questions, why was the game censored in the first place? If a simple outcry from the fans would make them so easily change, why waste money on trying to censor it to begin with? Censoring the game added nothing to the MapleStory 2 experience, just detracted from it. But whatever the cast, at least we win for once when it come to taking away censorship.
