Is Catherine: Full Body "Good Ending" Really Transphobic?

Catherine: Full Body is in the middle of another controversy. First it was Vincent shock at seeing RIn sleeping next to him, and now...SPOILERS FOR CATHERINE: FULL BODY AHEAD!!!

It was leaked that one of the new ending in the game involves time traveling. In this ending, Catherine changes the past and gives everyone a “better” life. In this so call better life, best girl Erica, never transitions and is now best boy Eric.

Now this might be me digging into the story too much, because I’m a future god like writer. But if they were smart with their writing then I think this is a great and message sending ending when you read deeper into it. So, let me explain to you what I’m talking about.

Erica being a boy and never transitioning, is a BETTER LIFE for her. Now keep reading before you get mad. It’s a better life in terms of the safety she now has. Trans people are hurt and abused by many for who they are. Being trans is not easy, and is still not accepted by many, which is why this is actually a better life for Erica. This may not be what she wants, but with her never transitioning, she’ll never have to be subjected to the insults, abuse, and disgust that she most likely had to face while transitioning. When you look deeper into the ending, it actual seems like a really deep message. Not being trans is a better life because the world that we live in now brings a lot of pain to many people in the trans community. Maybe instead of changing the ending, we should change the world and society that we live in. But that might just be me digging too much into the ending.

But in the end, no matter what people say about her. Erica will always be best girl. Where's my Erica route at damn it!

Do you think the message I got from the ending was what the developers intended? Do you think I’ll become a great writer one day? Is Erica best girl? Tell us in the comments below.

Holy shit this is a bad take. I'm also a trans girl, and there's no way staying a guy makes my life better. Read up on gender dysphoria to see where I'm coming from.

"Lets change the world"

Well. If a person cannot accept your natural gender, then why a entire society/world must accept those choices?

That is pretty damn sellfish. Accept your life and as you born and if you want change something, then change yourself.

Considering Toby isn't around isn't it possible that the transition simply hasn't happend yet?

trans people statistically also have higher suicide rates also one of world's best surgeons(sadly cannot remember there name since has been few months since I read the article on it) has said a decent amount of trans people get it reversed cause they only did cause of pressure from society or wanting to fit in.

"Asking the world to change" is why we have Donald Trump as president. The world is not going to change. Especially for that small percentage of people. (We don't really know the actual % number.)

Far as I know Catherine doesn't go back to give anyone a better life. She goes back to start dating Vincent in High School. Then it flashes forward to them getting married in what is clearly a redo of Katherine's true ending but several years early, and its not clear if its just before Eric transitioned into Erica and they met Toby earlier than before or if butterfly effect delaying the transition

From what I heard, btw HUGE Spoilers inbound, the true ending involves a bunch of time travel shenanigans, where two characters get married shortly after all the characters graduate or something. And the trans character transitioned more closely to the start of the game, so it's possible that the true ending might just occur/happen before her transition.

First off, no, not transitioning is not what's best for transgender people. Second, you made an ass of yourself with this take for no reason, because this was apparently confirmed as fake. As in, not happening. Made up. Presumably to get a rise out of people.

It's also entirely possible that, with the currently limited info, Catherine changed a lot throughout the entire lifetime of the characters. She might have changed enough that the revelation/thought/need to transition never occurred to Eric. Whatever circumstances that might have led him to change didn't happen. Butterfly effect, you know?
And it might be that better is in the eye of the beholder.

So your message is that the abuse that comes from being trans is just a fact of nature one has to accept, and so the logical choice is to hide the fact that you're trans. "I'm Becky, and I don't want to be racist, "
