Haikyuu Final Movie Might Ruin Haikyuu For Anime Fans
By ImJustThatKinky • 1 year ago

One of my favorite sports anime Haikyuu is getting a movie, titled, Haikyuu Final Movie. And yes, this is the final movie that Haikyuu will supposedly receive, but this is also the movie that will be ending the series.

Yep, Haikyuu is going the route of having their last and final arcs in a movie format. This movie will be split into two parts, finishing all of the Tokyo National Tournament matches, all the way to the timeskip at the end. I’ve seen sports anime do movies before, hell, Haikyuu did a few. But, they're usually just recaps of the actual anime, condensing 12 episodes into one movie. This is going the Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen route of making actual important story content into a movie. Which is super hype sounding, but also worrying in many ways.

Now since I’m an anime watcher, I’m not sure how many more matches we have until we get to the end. But one match in the anime could last like a good 5 episodes, and sometimes even more. And yeah, sometimes that is filled with talking and fluff that probably could be cut out, but I enjoyed it. Also, I’m not sure if some of the build up is going to feel rushed. Haikyuu has some of the most intense and hypest sports matches I’ve watched in anime, and I don’t want them to feel waterdowned because of it being restricted to a movie format. I’ve heard that the Haikyuu anime is still 100+ chapters behind, and we stil have 5 arcs left. So if they’re trying to fit 100+ chapters and 5 arcs into two movies.I guess I’m going to have to start reading the manga.

Alright boys, time to get ready.

But luckily, at the very least, we can expect the animation to be on point or even better since it’s in a movie format. Haikyuu has always had amazing animation, but now with it being a movie, I feel like that shit is going to be off the charts.

2 hours of this doesn't sound too bad.

With the success of Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen, making a movie out of canon and story important events seems to start being more common for anime. We might can expect them to make an anime version of the two movies after its movie release just like Demon Slayer and Boruto did. But I’m not sure how popular Haikyuu is in the west, so I don’t know if we’ll be getting a western movie release, but we’ll find out as more news drops.

Are you hype for Haikyuu Final Movie? Do you think the movie is going to feel rushed? How do you feel about anime making important arcs and events into movies? Tell us in the comments.
