With the release of the 76th tankoubon of the long-standing series Gintama, fans were met with a surprise: an announcement that the next volume will be its last. Though, given the comedic nature of the series, as seen in the header and just about any mix of funny anime moments, it might be a gag. But maybe not! Who knows? This is Gintama we're talking about.

The current arc, titled Silver Soul, began in 2016. I know the weebs already know this, but it should be noted that Gintama, the name of the series, translates to Silver Soul in English.

Gintama itself began its run in 2003. Even if this is the last arc, it's doubtful we've seen the last of Gintoki and his friends, what with the potential of endless spinoffs and sequels.
