Condom Battler Goro Returns With Gritty New Series
By Yung Namahage • 2 years ago

As far as crazy Japanese ad campaigns go, Okomoto creating a short parody battle anime to promote their condoms is one of the most memorable. The first four episodes of Condom Battler Goro were taken from a hypothetical shonen based on the likes of Dragonball and Beyblade, while the most recent season consists of two episodes that have a refined, contemporary aesthetic while tackling mature questions about the stigmas associated with wearing condoms.

Five years since the climactic battle between Goro and his father, the world has once again been plunged into chaos. But grown-up Goro feels embarrassed about using condoms and refuses relive his glory days as a Condom Battler. Will Goro overcome the shame of wearing a condom and fulfill his destiny?

The second is the season finale, complete with its own emotional J-pop theme song, This one's about the pressures of telling your partner to wrap up.
