So it was day 2 of Anime Expo 2018 and the temperature topped out at around 120* in the afternoon. I'm starting to think that cosplay ought to be a step toward sainthood on days like today. Absolutely unbearable hot. Nonetheless, some of these brave souls risked their very health and safety to keep the magic alive for them and their fellow anime fans. Cosplayers far and wide, I salute you. Here are just a few of those brave, creative lunatics who endured record heat to bring their favorite anime characters to life.

I told this guy what a brave soul I thought he was for wearing a plush bear suit on such a hot day, he told me that he'd already been treated for heat exhaustion earlier in the day. I wasn't exaggerating when I said that some of these cosplayers risked their lives.
