A Review of Sakura MMO
By ImJustThatKinky • 5 years ago

Nutaku asked us to take a look at this game, and here’s our opinion.

You thought my ass got de-sponsored didn’t you? Fear not hentai game players, as I merely took a break after the enduring searing pain of the last review. In fact it left such a gaping hole after teasing yuri and then slapping me with the shortest scenes known to man that I couldn’t help but search out some real yuri hotness. Turns out, there’s a fucking lot. I originally planned to do a little “Sakura Games Month Marathon!” to get to compare and contrast a bunch of games from the same series. However, hot damn there’s a lot of Sakura games, so I’m not sure if that’s happening.

I picked this one out at complete random. Sakura MMO is a short yuri visual novel game that was published and developed by Winged Cloud. It was added to the Nutaku store on November 29, 2018 and can be picked up for $9.99.

Art/Music

I might have to change this section if I do many future reviews in this series, because anyone with a pair of eyes can quickly grasp the aesthetic they’re going for here. The art in this game, as well as the cover art for the other Sakura games, has yuri written all over it. Soft colors, soft lines, soft breasts. And I don’t mean that in a bad way, it looks clean as hell, just expect the typical yuri art style. Though sometimes the shading can leave some body parts so reflective they look like shiny mirrors. Again, not really complaining. At the time of writing this it’s been two days and I had to reopen the game to remember what the music sounded like. It certainly enhances the fantasy, whimsical tone of the game’s setting, but it obviously won’t be an OST that I’ll seek out after playing either. It did its job, and that was that.

Damn I'm just trying to fuck, not get inducted in some racist shit.

Writing

Kotone, an average woman, is magically sent to an MMO world where she becomes the dominant, powerful, and feared character that she’s spent hours playing as. Once there, she’s down to find some hot bitches to put under her control and create a harem. In other words, don’t come here for an enchanting or provoking story. We have fucking to do. The characters are pretty much just different archetypes for the MC to entertain herself with. They’re all written differently and distinct, yet absolutely not deep by any means. And that’s A-Okay considering the shorter length of this title.

Uh, I was expecting 'I'm a middle school student' with that outfit but okay.

The Sex

The sex was nice and solid. Your character stays dominant for the near entirety of the game so you better be into that. The writing itself strikes a fair balance between dialogue and description that left me satisfied. I’m crossing my fingers that one of the Sakura games might have voiced lines though as that would of taken these scenes to the next level. As they are now, they’re pretty average yuri scenes. Some might say they’re a bit on the short side but I cum like a cheetah (fast) so I can’t say I noticed. Perks of being a virgin loser baby!!

Speaking of the short side, the real complaint here comes with the price point. You could probably complete this whole visual novel and unlock all the scenes in an hour and thirty minutes, maybe two hours. That’s kind of a steep ask for a Hamilton.

If you’re a yuri fan like myself, I think we’d come to an understanding for a 3/5;  However, for everyone else, I definitely can’t say this is good enough to play regardless of taste

Alright guys, if there are any Sakura fans out there, help me out in the comments. Is there a “best” Sakura game decided by the community? A worst one? Where would they place this title? Let me know!
