More weird decisions from the higher ups in the movie industry. The first Mortal Kombat movie wasn’t super popular and wasn’t the best movie overall, but it was enjoyable for what it was. But, a lot of people were weirded out that we got a new main character to be the star of the movie, instead of an actual movie star Johnny Cage himself. Well, Mortal Kombat 2 decided to fix that.
With Mortal Kombat 2 fixing that huge problem that many fans had with the first movie, they just had to create a new problem for people to have.

That’s right, Jade has…no hair? Sometimes, it actually feels like companies want fans and people to yell “DEI!!!” and get angry. Like, I can’t see any other reason why they made Jade be…bald? Like, it’s not like any version of Jade from the video games was bald or even had short hair. Fans of Jade weren't even able to get her in MK1, so now when they finally get her, it’s like this?

I have no hate for the actress and think she looks overall good. But this just isn’t the right way to go about this. I’m not sure what was going through their minds, and I’m not sure why studios can’t just adapt existing series the way they were from the start. Like, I understand changing a few things here or there. But that’s like making a Street Fighter movie and for some reason making Ken have black hair instead of blonde, it just doesn’t work out, and doesn’t even make sense why you thought to make that change.
I’m going to still check the movie out with my friends, and I don’t think this change will overall affect the quality of the movie. It’s just another weird head scratching decision that I can’t really process or wrap my…BALD head around.
What do you think of the hair choice? Why do you think they made this decision? Are you going to check out Mortal Kombat 2? Tell us in the comments.
