Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse with Shounen Logic

The World of Shounen Logic is Dying

The streets are deserved, devoid of life. The news reporter is providing the answers: the dead are rising and devouring the flesh of the living. The zombie apocalypse has happened. You go over some clear facts in your head: the dead are rising and posing a threat. Like, a real threat. In this day and age where guns are everywhere and the military has an itchy trigger finger, it's taking everything they have to deal with the outbreak of zombies. The only real logic that applies here is shounen logic. You've been preparing for this. Video games, manga, and anime have taught you much. It's time to live it up in the zombie apocalypse.

The Base of Operations

First and foremost, you need a safe place to stay. Your own house could suffice, you have access to food, water, and electricity, at least for now. Food rots, and water and electricity and dependent on city infrastructure. Unless those guys are getting hazard pay, it's only a matter of time before those go.

You know well enough that the mall is the last place to go. Everyone else would think of it, and that only causes noise and a potential for spreading illness. You have not covered wars, stay away from the mall. The highschool? Unless you were popular there, you wouldn't want to be there during normal times.

For now, until you find more resources and means, the house it is. If your house isn't great, just find a new one, hopefully one unoccupied. If all else fails, find a sweet yacht and take it out to sea some distance, zombies can't swim and you can fish for food. Most boats have water purifiers, too.

Friends and Family are Important

If your family survived the apocalypse, great! Your friends, too? Doubly so. More people means a better chance of survival. If those friends have also "trained" to deal with the zombies, you have a team to deal with the undead. The parents may be a source of wisdom and strength, so listen to them well. However, this is shounen logic we're dealing with, and the real power comes from the youth. You know this well, and you're watching for the flags.

The flags seem to be popping up around your friend who also happens to be a girl. You refuse to submit this girl to heavy-handed tragedy to give everyone additional motivation to survive. You and your best friend train her in your ways, and always make sure she's as safe as possible. Those red flags better watch out.

Getting Resources

First and foremost, a direct line to food and water is important. If there's a shop near you, and it hasn't been raided, raid at will. You should also check a hotel, they typically have kitchens that get normal shipments of food. Hotels are also a fine place to stay, just make sure to barracade windows and doors.

Weapons are equally important. Guns are fine, just have good aim and make your shots count. Bullets are finite, and guns make noise. Noise attracts more zombies, as you very well know. Make the shots count.

Other types of weapons to invest in are bludgeoning weapons. Sticks, bats, cars, go for it. Bladed weapons are good as well, just don't get cocky. Keep distance. Even a harpoon or chainsaw would work. Trick them out to your taste. As long as you can kill that which is already dead, go for it. Remember to aim for the head.

Make sure you're in fit shape, there's plenty of running to do.

Other Survivors

Despite what television series would have us believe, humanity would not devolve into the logic of "if you want to live, do what we say, or we'll kill you ourselves". People are more or less pretty decent, and tragedy only brings us together. Certainly, some survivors might be complete jerks, but the majority would be fine. They'll share zombie sightings, resources if need be, and a warm smile. Watch out for these people, once a better dwelling is found, they'll be able to secure it properly.

You will find that one special survivor, the special girl who has done fine on her own, but finds herself in a situation. After making short work of her undead pursuers, you share a moment before inviting her back to your place. You find the flag to start a romance, and the flag to start the harem. Someone needs to sure up the human population, and it may as well be you with the hot girl and cute childhood friend.

Zombie Waifu

Somehow, there are zombies with human intelligence and no means to spread the zombie virus. The only reasonable explanation is that shounen logic is delivering a reprieve from the horrors of the zombie apocalypse. Among them is a really cute and funny, but also pretty strong and tough zombie girl. The spark of romance is there. You and your friends and family make peace with this small group of friendly zombies, and you hit it off with the zombie girl. She hits it off with the two girls you've already romanced. In due time, it's confirmed that the zombie plague cannot be transmitted by these friendly and intelligent zombies.

The Cause

You've managed to build up a defensible base and have access to a steady supply of resources for you and those closest to you. Now it's time to find out how all this happened. Whether it's magic, science gone wrong, or a freak incident, it's time to figure it out. If there's a big bad boss to deal with, you and your vanguard of fighters will deal with it. You'd also like to find a cure to the zombie virus if possible, but your zombie friends and lovers are fine either way.

Dawn of the New World

The zombie apocalypse is coming to an end. The friendly zombies and integrating with the human survivors, and the mindless zombies are being pushed back. The government is reestablishing order and mindful of any funny business. Humans dealt with the undead, they can deal with corrupt politicians without issue. You survived, have a sweet base, and girls that share a bed with you. You not only survived, you came out better for it. Shounen logic with zombies delivered in the best way, and you knew enough about both to come out on top.
