Well, I didn’t think anime could predict the future, but here we are. If you ever watched a little anime called Shimoneta, and have also been keeping up with the recent climate of the world, you might have an idea of what I’m getting at. The world around us is changing, and not for the better, all in the words of “protecting the kids” which if we’re being honest, isn’t the real goal of it all. The goal is to control, and keep tabs on everyone.

Some people really don’t see the issue with these rules and laws. Just because they’re saying it’s to “protect the kids”, doesn’t mean it’s actually going to do that. Me needing to give any random company online my ID, and face, is not protecting the kids. What’s protecting the kids is their parents actually raising them. I lived in a world without these crazy restrictions, and I came out just fine. The UK is the one who’s getting hit with this issue the hardest, with age verification being tied to simple things like Spotify and Discord, but slowly, it seems like it’s trying to creep up on the US.

Pornhub has already been hit if you didn’t know. Some American states have already lost Pornhub. So if you live in one of those states, I’m guessing you’ll be visiting Doujins.com a lot more. And I know some people might still say, “but yeah, that’s a good thing because kids can’t view porn now.” Firstly, they can just find it on other more loose and dangerous porn sites. And second, I watched porn when I was younger, and it didn’t affect me. It’s not that big of a deal as people try to make it out to be.

I’m praying that this is somehow shut down and not as big of an issue as it seems like it’s going to be. But who knows. For a country that prides itself on freedom, it sure is looking like we’re gaining less freedom everyday.
