Persona Could be Expanding its Console Presence Soon
By Yung Namahage • 5 years ago

I've mentioned several times that I love Persona 5 for various reasons, but I've got a confession to make: I've never played any other Persona game before. I've seen countless SMT fanboys go on about how either or 4 are the best in the series and I would love to check them out myself if it didn't mean I had to go and buy a PS2, PSP or Vita. I know I'm not alone in this dilemma, but fortunately Atlus seem to be listening.

In an interview with GNN Gamer, Atlus' executive producer Naoto Hiroaka stated that they will look into the possibility of porting Personas (Personae?) 34 to modern consoles if there is a demand for it, considering the success of 5

"Although we can’t specifically tell you anything at the moment, we have always received a lot of suggestions from the players. We have received and understood the voices of the players, and if there is an opportunity, we will actively discuss it."

Also, you may have thought it was strange that Persona 5's Joker will be coming to Smash Bros seeing as the game he originated in is a PlayStation exclusive. But now A Twitter user has found something interesting on Best Buy's internal system: a Switch port of the game along with Metriod Prime Trilogy and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Like all leaks, it's best to take this with a grain of salt. Either way, Nintendo fans can get their Joker fix soon in Smash and in the upcoming Persona 3/4/5 crossover Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth, out on June 4 on 3DS.

The end of the month sees the Persona Super Live event occurring in Tokyo on April 24-25. More information regarding the mysterious Persona 5: The Royal will be coming on the 24, while something else is being teased for the 25th on a cryptic website that notably has "P5S" in the URL. Persona 5 Switch, perhaps? Whatever it is, fans of the series have a lot to look forward to in a few weeks.

What do you think the website could be teasing? Would you be down for Persona 5 on Switch or any of the older Persona games on modern consoles? Drop your thoughts in the comments, and don't forget to let Atlus know if you want them to port Persona 4!
