One Shonen Jump Series Leaves, Another Enters
By ImJustThatKinky • 1 year ago

I know all you guys most likely read doujins, since you’re on this site. But how many of you read manga? Weekly Shonen Jump is the biggest manga publishing magazine in Japan, and everyone knows about it. The thing is, if you start reading chapters weekly and keeping up with the series in Shonen Jump, something you’re enjoying might just get cut out of the blue. One series that got cut and ended on a SUPER huge cliffhanger, is Ayashimon.

A pretty cool action series about yakuzas and demons. People compared it to Jujutsu Kaisen, which could be either seen as a good thing or bad thing. But, maybe since the magazine already had Jujutsu Kaisen, they didn’t need to take up space with a clone of it, so the series got axed after 25 chapters, and now is replaced by another series called Ruri Dragon.

A cute slice of life series about well…Ruri the Dragon. Something just cute and fun to read after you're done reading all the high blood pumping action series that Shonen Jump has to offer. A different type of manga from what you’d usually see in Shonen Jump, and like with Ayashimon, that could be seen as a good, or bad thing. The series has been doing good so far, so hopefully if you’re enjoying the series, hopefully it can last for a good while.

Have you read Ayashimon or Ruri Dragon? Do you read Weekly Shonen Jump? Has a manga series you’ve loved ever gotten axed? Tell us in the comments.
