I’ve never been one to care what wild and fucked up things people like to read in doujins or watch in hentai. Sure the tags may be “mind break, reverse rape, forwards rape, breeding, and nightmare fuel” but I’ll either take a peak for curiosity’s sake or just skip the doujin. Enough said. It’s all fantasy and nobody is actually hurt by anything. Additionally, I’ve never subscribed to the argument that consuming media makes you more likely to behave in that same way. I’ve robbed plenty of banks in Payday, but I’m still zero robberies completed out of zero robberies attempted in real life. However, things get complicated when sexual stuff leaves the safe haven known as Doujins.com.

As you’ve likely heard, this week a prominent spiritual leader, the 14th Dalai Lama, was put on blast regarding a video surfacing (supposedly filmed back in February) where he and a kid were on stage. He proceeded to greet the kid with a kiss on the lips. Already I have been disgusted. I know different people have different cultures and what not. Even in America some families do that. However I’ve always hated the idea and that’s when we’re talking about a dad and a son. In this situation, the Dalai doesn’t even know the damn kid. But still many could chalk this up as different cultural ideas. Until the Dalai then proceeds to ask the kid to “suck his tongue” and sticks it out waiting for the kid to get with the program. It is at this point that just about everyone, everywhere across all political spectrums came to the collective conclusion that this guy is out of his mind and needs to be held accountable. The official Twitter account for the Dalai Lama posted an apology which I will show below, but essentially it amounts to “bruh you know he likes to meme around sometimes”. As you might guess, nobody is buying it. Early reports that I cross-referenced seemed to indicate there is no cultural or religious grounds for what the fuck he attempted to pull.

This is still a pretty new story (at least compared to what slow ass Snooze usually covers) so there haven’t been any tangible effects of the backlash yet. That being said I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a 15th Dalai Lama entering the ring as a replacement very soon. If a proper punishment is handed down, I’ll try to remember to come back and leave an update. Maybe if all these staunchly religious figures spent more time reading through the galleries of Doujins.com and less time touching kids, the world would be a better place.
