Kill la Kill: IF Western Release Confirmed!
By Yung Namahage • 5 years ago

After Jump ForceKill la Kill: IF is no doubt one of the most hyped anime fighting games of this year. While it was always pretty likely that Arc System Works' take on Trigger's stylish and sexy action series will be coming to the west eventually, it's always nice to have official confirmation.

PQube, whose previous credits include Valkyrie Drive BhikkuniMuv-Luv and Punch Line among others, will be handling western localization for the game. It'll also include an option for an English dub alongside the original Japanese audio, which is a good touch considering how many Japanese games fail to cater to the dubs crowd.

Another recent addition is that there will be alternate versions of Ryuko & Satsuki, dual wielding Scissor Blades and both halves of Bakuzan respectively, as they do toward the end of the series. Speaking of the end of the series, remember Ryuko's, or rather Senketsu's, ultimate Kisaragi form in the final epsiode? Satsuki will finally be able to match her with a brand new form known as Junketsu Shinzui.

Kill la Kill the Game: IF

This is presumably part of the game's original story mode, which is billed as "another Kill la Kill" and features all new scenes and content supervised by the anime's head writer, Kazuki Nakashima. The "IF" in the game's title hints toward the new story's "what if" scenario, which will focus on Satsuki after an alternate version of the events that transpire in the anime's eighth episode. You know, the one where Harime Nui shows up.

Kill la Kill: IF will be coming to PS4, Nintendo Switch and Steam some time this year, although an exact date is currently TBA. Are you hyped for more clothes-stripping chaos? Or are you looking forward to the original Satsuki side story? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
