No, no it’s not. But it’s pretty damn close. You might have thought this was just AI art stealing Speedo’s artstyle, but nope, this was made by pure flesh and blood. This isn’t called stealing, this is called binge inspired by an artist that you most likely look up to. This still takes skill compared to AI. So I can respect Wabewayz’s art talent and skills.
Wabe is an artist I just recently stumbled upon and in all honesty, had to do research into making sure it wasn't just AI art, since that’s so common nowadays, and a lot of people were accusing them of that at first. Luckily, it was just a guy with scary art talent. And don’t be upset with calling him a Speedo clone, he’s fully embraced it.
Cause let’s all be honest, his way of drawing characters, coloring, and the body proportions are crazy similar.
But, that doesn’t mean that Wabe doesn’t have their own style. There are still things that can be seen and pointed out that are different compared to Speedo’s art style. And that’s the amazing thing about artists. Inspiration is something that comes with the territory. If someone is inspired by the mangaka of Naruto, Kishimoto’s artstyle, it wouldn’t be surprising if that person’s drawing looks similar to Naruto characters. But, there will always be differences. It’s close to impossible for someone to copy a style one for one. The human body and mind has limitations. So I respect and appreciate Wabe’s art, and I hope to see more of it. Hopefully they dip their toes in the NSFW side of art.
What do you think about Wabe’s art style? Do you think he’s copying Speedo’s art style? Do you hope Wabe draws NSFW? Tell us in the comments.
