Berserk is beloved by fans for its amazing art, gripping story and dark themes, and is highly regarded by manga fans the world over. Despite this, all animated adaptations of the manga have been lacking, some in more ways than one. Fans of the series are probably willing to sacrifice something dear to them to ensure the manga finally gets the adaptation it deserves, but their prayers might be answered soon. 

Adi Shankar, creator of the acclaimed Castlevania Netflix series and an upcoming Devil May Cry series, is another fan of Berserk. In an interview with Forbes, he stated: "Berserk needs to come back. If someone reputable gets me the rights I’ll bring it back in that 2D hand-drawn vibe and make is closer to the manga, because the hyper-detailed beauty of Kentaro Miura’s artwork in the manga is the true masterpiece.” In case this didn't get fans excited enough, a recent tweet he made is teasing them even further.
