We might be finally getting it. The anime fighting game we’ve been asking for. Not this Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash or Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, but an actual anime fighting game in the vein of Dragon Ball FighterZ. And the series they decide to tackle might surprise you. Dragon Ball was a good pick, being one of the most popular anime in both the East and the West, but Hunter x Hunter seems like more of a gamble choice in my opinion. 

More information is said to be announced on January 6, 2024, so I’m keeping that date in mind. But the information we have as of now is that the game is being developed by Eighting and published by Bushiroad Games. And a game that Eighting recently developed was DNF Duel, which wasn't the best fighting game, but was actually a fighting game at least.

Gon might be next?

Arena fighters are cool for just fucking around with the friends, but I want something actually competitive. Something I can sink my teeth into, and as a fan of Hunter x Hunter, I’m hoping this is just that. Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero looks like it’s going to be a cool and fun blast with the boys, and Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash…is looking like a disappointment. So I hope we balance all these anime fighting game releases with an ACTUAL ANIME FIGHTING GAME!!!!
