Gal*Gun Returns Finally Brings Original Game to the West
By Yung Namahage • 3 years ago

Fans of lewd rail shooters rejoice! For its 10th anniversary, the first title in the Gal*Gun franchise will finally see the light of day outside of Japan.

Originally released in 2011 for Xbox 360 and PS3 by Mega Man Zero developers Inti Creates, Gal*Gun follows a high-schooler named Tenzou Motesugi. One day, Tenzou is accidentally shot by an angel-in-training named Patako with Cupid Arrows that render him irresistable to all women. You have to fend off legions of horny girls with pheremone shots as you race around the school on a quest to find Tenzou's true love before the end of the day, or else he'll be destined to live alone for the rest of his life.

The game spawned two sequels that retained the same basic premise with a few recurring characters, Gal*Gun Double Peace and Gal*Gun 2, as well as a VR-centric spin-off that intensified the already sexy Doki Doki Mode. All of those were released outside of Japan, and thanks to PQube, the original game will be joining them in remastered form as Gal*Gun Returns. Here's a trailer showing it in action:

Gal*Gun Returns will release on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One on January 28 in Japan, and it'll hit PCs in February. Western release dates are still TBA. Curiously, there's no sign of a PlayStation release, even though it was originally on PS3 and both sequels are available on PS4.

Over to you, what do you guys think of the Gal*Gun series? Which is your favorite one? Are you looking forward to finally playing the OG? Let us know in the comments!
