Cute Cryptid Girls Galore in Journal of the Mysterious Creatures
By Yung Namahage • 5 years ago

I've been getting weirdly into monster girls lately. If there's no horns, fangs or tails then I ain't interested, sir. Luckily, there's a new series coming soon that'll satisfy these oddly specific tastes and I know more than a few of my fellow degenerates are also into this sort of thing.

Japanese production company MAGES. and Chinese streaming service billibilli are bringing us Journal of the Mysterious Creatures, or Ijo Seibutsu Kenbunroku, an anime series based on a web novel by Chinese artist Yuan Tong. The series follows a 23 year old NEET named Yoshihito, who decides to rent out extra rooms in his home to a cute girl called Lily. Plot twist: Lily turns out to be a werewolf, and the pair encounter a vampire named Vivian who also decides to move in. Sooner or later, Yoshihito is contacted by a mysterious organisation in charge of maintaining a link between parallel worlds, leading to more strange(ly adorable) cryptids coming and going through his home.

A release date hasn't been revealed yet, but more information will be released at the AnimeJapan 2019 event on March 24. Are you a fan of cryptid or monster girls? Are you excited from what you've seen so far? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
