Crunchyroll is the biggest anime streaming platform out there at the moment. But being the biggest, doesn’t mean the best. Crunchyroll has seemingly been going downhill in a lot of viewers and consumers' eyes. It seems like most people have a negative view on Crunchyroll, and only deal with them because they have no other option, since they bought out Funimation. Well, now another big problem has arised from Crunchyroll.

Now what might have brought this whole thing about? Why is Crunchyroll so afraid of comments now? Well, many speculate that it’s because of A.I., with people spamming that Crunchyroll are using A.I. generated translations for their anime in the comments. And, it seems like a new yaoi anime, Twilight Out of Focus, was getting slammed in the comments.

Now for me personally, it’s a change that doesn’t affect me, but I can totally see how this would suck for the people who actually use the site. If Youtube or Doujins.com took away comments, I would be hella upset. Sure it gets annoying seeing people call me a monkey or the N word all the time, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t nice comments and also engaging conversations that happen. The comment section isn’t always toxic, and it sucks seeing a feature like that go for the people who actually used it. Connecting with other fans on the anime they’re practically watching at the moment. It’s always nice to have conversations with people who enjoy the same anime as you, but now I guess Crunchyroll made it harder for anime fans to connect to one another.
Do you use Crunchyroll? Do you think removing comments was stupid? Do you use the Doujins.com comment section? Tell us in…well, the comments!
