You see how I said it was better than the anime. I don’t want to get manga readers mad. But yes people, I never thought I would consider myself a One Piece fan, but I have been converted. Maybe not by the original source material, but by the live action adaptation that many most likely thought was going to be a flop. But surprisingly, it was a real success.

Well, everyone expect IGN.

So many people, fans of One Piece, and newcomers to the series, are saying that this is all around. It gives off a Disney live action vibe, with great set design, character moments and interactions, and GREAT PACING!!! Something that many would say that the anime adaptation fails at.

The true One Piece experince.

As someone who doesn’t like the One Piece anime, I came into this with low expectations. I also know how bad most anime adaptation movies are, so that also didn’t help my beginning thoughts. And it’s ONE PIECE!!! A goofy looking, fantasy style, pirate story. This is one anime I thought wouldn’t translate well into live action, but boy did Netflix prove me and everyone else wrong.

Never again.

Maybe that Yu Yu Hakusho live action won’t be as bad as I thought it would be. This is truly a great moment for anime fans, with us getting another successful live action anime adaptation. No more Dragon Ball Evolution, or Death Note Netflix series. An actual banger that isn’t just good because of how bad it is. It’s just good cause it’s good. I was sad when it ended. I admittedly wanted a season 2 right then and  there. But sadly, we’ll all have to wait. Hopefully the writer strike doesn’t delay my One Piece season 2 too much.
