AR, or augmented reality, has enabled people to take digital pleasures to a whole new level. People can do things we've only dreamed of just a few years ago. AR can be applied to most anything, from movies to video games. For we otaku, this means AR waifus. It's happening, but for now, it's limited to Japan.

Gugenka’s HoloModels AR app enables users to project a waifu into the real world using their phones. As explained here (In Japanese), users can bring their waifus into the real world to do all sorts of things, including making unique expressions and poses. Their heights can also be adjusted at will. The app itself is free, but waifus like Rem from Re:Zero cost ¥3,780, or $34.54.
