Let me take you on a trip down memory lane. For a while there, fellow Doujins blogger ImJustThatKinky was doing a series called “Why I’m Just That Kinky for X” that lasted from about February 2018 to July 2018. Replace X with a certain fetish that Kinky wanted to discuss, and there ya go. At the time I wasn’t completely on the team with Doujns yet and was just helping out with some side articles here and there. But man, there were a lot of articles he wrote that got my blood boiling. I mean, how can one man have THAT many horrible takes on porn? Now that I’m free and have my own account to write articles, it’s time to address some of these horrid takes and right his wrongs. Starting with traps.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m one of those maximum freedom dudes so I have no problem with people crossdressing or becoming trans or any of that. I simply don’t find it appealing in a porn setting. Let’s break it down first, a trap is a guy in anime/manga (or hentai/doujins) who dresses and sometimes acts like a girl. Rest assured though, his penis is typically intact and hasn’t gone anywhere. Obviously if you’re straight like me, this is already strike one in terms of personal preference especially in a scenario where there is no girl in the doujin. At that point I’m basically reading yaoi with extra steps.
Very cool, but where the women at?
I do understand the appeal of the “weird” feeling about traps that Kinky described in his original article. A boy dressing up as a girl and getting fucked is weird and unusual, and sometimes that is enough to make something hot. And in a world where the only genres were straight, ugly bastard, and trap I’d have to agree with him. The main reason I never read any trap doujins is because futanari exists. With futanari, you still get that weird and unusual feeling because a girl with a dick is still an unnatural thing biologically in our world. Thinking about it, a trap and futanari are actually pretty similar in most doujin depictions. The futanari just also has boobs and usually the mindset of a girl, while a trap does not have boobs and is still a boy at heart despite his outward appearance.
A ton of futanari doujins are about a girl growing a dick and then discovering what it’s like to cum from a penis for the first time. For some reason I’m sitting there thinking “Damn, girls WOULD be curious about that huh… now that’s realistic, AND hot!” Even when there’s a big penis right in my face, I’m so focused on the futanari’s thoughts, the womanly aspects of the futanari, and that “unnatural hot” feeling that it never turns me off. When I’ve tried to read trap doujins, I can never escape from the fact that I’m watching a dude no matter how much I try. His dick certainly isn’t gonna turn me on, so I look upwards. His chest is probably in a cute outfit, but he has no boobs to look at. I try to move on to the face, but by that point it’s pretty clear that this is a male character. I try to look at his partner, but that’s often a male too. By this point any boner I had was killed and I’m back to square one.

At the end of the day, it seems like traps just aren’t for me, and that’s okay. Kinky’s opinion is wrong because it’s his opinion, but I completely respect everyone else’s. Thankfully we live in a world with a ton of variety in doujins with something for everyone rather than that straight, ugly bastard, or trap world I mentioned earlier.
