It’s that time of year again ladies and gentlemen. Thanksgiving is upon us. Considering this is a doujin site, that probably means a whole day of hiding your weird and outlandish fetishes and trying to remember what things normal people talk about that aren’t as boring as the weather, work, and school. Since trying to remember all my pre-loaded answers to the typical family dinner questions will be taking most of my time on Thursday, I went ahead and wrote this article early when I had some spare time to sit and reflect.
There was a lot to be thankful for this year in the weeaboo world. In celebration of some key pieces of greatness, I thought I’d list some things here (in no particular order) that came out in 2019 and dazzled me by just how amazing they are.
Demon Slayer
Demon Slayer was on my radar from day one, the problem was that it wasn’t very high on the radar. I mean, if we’re going to be lazy as fuck and call it something as generic as “Demon Slayer” in English, surely this has to be shit, right? Oh, what’s the story? A young boy trains to get strong and fight monsters? How original. Then ufotable proceeded to blow me the fuck away with some of the best animation and authentic artstyle recreation that the anime community hasn’t seen in a while. The fights were amazing. The opening is now a classic. The story is pretty predictable so far, but it’s executed so well that the majority of watchers and I are still invested regardless. With a movie now on the horizon, I’m mighty thankful that I was able to live in a time where I could watch Demon Slayer.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the music at that part. Shit was fire.
Pokemon Sword and Shield
Wait, Imaginary, didn’t this game get a bunch of bad reviews due to the low quality of the animations? Why are you listing it here? Well my good inquisitor, the reason is because fuck the gameplay, I’m here for the bitches. This game has consistently put out some of the best female designs of the year. Nessa, Marnie, Sonia, the MC, Oleana, Bea, Melony, hell even that Chairman Rose guy is the type of hot that I think “I’m not gay, but…”. It’s like they said fuck it and threw together whatever Pokemon designs came to mind and put all of the leftover effort into designing these hot ass characters. Considering that I don’t have a Switch and won’t be playing the game, I’m definitely okay with that decision. Some exquisite doujins with these characters is all I need at this point.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses
This game is like Sword and Shield but with good, detailed gameplay and animations smacked on top. You've got a plethora of boys and girls to choose from. Or hey, don’t choose at all and simply enjoy the massive amount of lewd art that this game has created. It’s certainly put Fire Emblem on the mainstream map, something that I don’t believe any of the previous titles were able to do quite to the extent achieved this year. If you have a Switch this is an absolute must buy if you like anime or strategy games. If you don’t have a Switch, just be like me and use Kinky’s when he isn’t looking.

Audio Doujins Becoming Less Shit
To end it off, I thought I needed to make sure I stayed on track with something involving this website. Without a doubt the first thing that comes to mind is the improvements Kinky has made since founding audio doujins back in the beginning. I mean seriously, have you heard some of the first audio doujins that came out on the site? Who the fuck did they find to voice some of those boys? That shit was horrible *cough* *cough*. The mixing is more balanced, the microphone quality has improved, and he’s done a good job of staying on schedule with releases. There was even one with my waifu Aigis, hell yeah! Old dogs can learn new tricks after all. Regardless, I still wish we could get those damn male voices outta here. I see support for that viewpoint is growing… maybe I’ll be able to do that in 2020 and be thankful for it next year.
