I was truly excited for this adult game called Shattered Lands when I heard that they were adding voice acting in the next build (you guys should already know the spill by now). Well, from how I started this article, you might have guessed that I am no longer excited. And it was because of one little message I got from the developer.

It still boggles my mind till this day when developers hires VAs for their adult game and voice everything but the sex scenes. To me, this decision is like someone making a rhythm game, and instead of putting their money and efforts into the music, they put it all into the art that shows during the music. Sure, the background is pleasing to the eye, but I bought the rhythm game for the music, focus more on that. Since I play sex games for the sex, why not put your best foot forward on making the sex scenes the best they can possibly be.

I’m not sure what makes the developer think that adding voices to normal scenes would be a better option then having the sex scenes voiced, but I don’t make the decisions.In the end of the day, it’s the developers money and vision, so it’s their call. I am truly disappointed by this decision, but don’t let me deter you from checking out their Patreon.
