If you’re an anime watcher and lover, then it would be weird if you’ve never heard Linkin Park before. They were the peak of anime in the early 2000’s, it would have been surprising if you’ve never ran across an AMV that had a Linkin Park song blasting.
It made everything more epic, but alas, the band haven’t been releasing any new bangers for years, after the lead singer Chester Bennington passed away. But now, they’re trying to make a comeback, under the same Linkin Park name, with new singer Emily Armstrong.
With them having a live concert where Emiliy sings they’re new song The Emptiness Machine, and also covering some of the bands old song, people have mixed feelings about Emily. Some of those feelings stem from Emiliy’s past, but if you’re solely basing it on her musical talent, I think Emily is okay. She doesn't have the raw sound of the old Linkin Park, but I’m interested in seeing how the full album turns out.
Even if Emily is a huge change from old Linkin Park, it’s interesting seeing them come back and seeing how they’re music is going to hit with today's audience. I haven’t watched or been interested in AMVs in awhile, so maybe this is a revival of a new AMV era.
What do you think of Linkin Park's new song The Emptiness Machine and Emily Armstrong? Did you like old Linkin Park songs? Do you enjoy AMVs? Tell us in the comments.
