An anime that people praise to be one of the best, Fullmetal Alchemist, or to be more exact, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, aired in 2009, and is considered one of the best shonen anime out there. And as someone who watched every episode, I can agree with that. It’s a shonen anime that does everything right, and doesn’t fall into the usual shonen pit falls. It also has a great and conclusive ending, which most shonen have issues doing. The author behind Fullmetal Alchemist, Hiromu Arakawa, has created other series that some of you might have heard of. One of my favs is Silver Spoon, a slice of life series about farming. A beautiful and cozy anime that I wish got more seasons. And another series called The Heroic Legend of Arslan, which is another shonen from her, but didn’t have the same charm or popularity as Fullmetal Alchemist had. But now, with studio Bones being at the helm once again, and the animation looking top notch, this might be the return to form.

Arakawa’s most recent manga, Daemons of the Shadow Realm, is getting an anime adaptation. A series, set in a world where certain humans can control a duo of supernatural creatures called Daemons, the series follows the journey of twins, Yuru and Asa, who were separated from a young age and must make their way back to each other. Along the way they learn of their prophesied abilities to control all Daemons, and eventually discover they must unite to save the world from destruction.

Now I’ve never read any of the manga, and don’t really know anything about the series, but it being created by the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist, has my expectations high. Unlike Arslan, which is a story that already had a source material to reference off of, Daemons of the Shadow Realm, is completely original. So I’m hoping that means the Fullmetal Alchemist flair will be in full effect. And hell, it’s already showing off some good waifu material.

So if there’s no delays, we should be seeing this anime sometime in April. I know I’ll be checking it out.
