Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter will be released September 17, 2026 for all of us to enjoy. I’m still interested in trying out the first chapter, but with so many games coming out, GOOD games at that. It’s been hard to find time for such a long RPG. But, with the release nearing closer, it’s time to talk about the big Trails in the Sky debate. Spats or pantsu?
That’s right, another back and forth debate going on about censorship, and the sudden change of media. Some people are getting mad that the main character, Estelle, new outfit has her wearing spats under her skirt. Which, for me, doesn’t affect me whatsoever. Some people are calling it censorship, while others are calling it a change in design. Falcom has not shied away from fanservice, and revealing outfits for their characters. So it being censorship is kind of out of the question. I feel like it’s more so, with it being a remake, they’re trying to do more with the characters. With it being in 3D, and not relying on pixels, they can do way more with the character models and designs. And let me be honest, I think Estelle's fat ass looks better in spats.
Spats really fit her design for me personally. Back in the day, panty shots were added not to improve or tell a story about the character, it was done to get the horny people interested. These are teenage boys that would show their friends that CRAZY panty scene from the game. It was a small selling point. But games have improved, and have advanced to a level, where people don’t have to rely on cheap tactics to get people interested in their games. Good gameplay and graphics is all you need. Pantyshots isn’t going to sell your game nowadays. We have limited money, and prices of things are going up. If I’m going to spend $70 on a video game, it’s going to be the game with cool and interesting gameplay, not the game that lets me look under my character's skirt.
