Two eroge I've enjoyed in the past were recently bundled together on J-List, and I figured I'd talk about them here, since, you know, we're affiliates now. Yep, Doujins is now an affiliate of J-List, but we'll be honest about what we think of the things we discuss here. Case in point, this game bundle.
The Secret Wives' Club + Pick Me Honey! Bundle Pack was something that caught my eye. I played both eroge some time ago, and had fun. Let's break things down.
Secret Wives' Club, called Hitozuma Hime Club, by Sekilala might be hit or miss with people. Here's the plot:
On the first day of a new job as a tutor, Issei finds the mother of his student to be the woman he had a fling with in Bali! Happy meet him again, she later introduces him to her two beautiful (married) friends, lovely ladies of leisure who are frustrated with their boring sex lives. Before he knows it, he agrees to become their trainer in the pleasures of life, experimenting with each of them until they become his playthings.
Even though he feels a bit guilty, he can't complain; he's having the time of his life with these three beautiful women! And he never wants it to end...
Some people distinguish NTR based on whether or not the one being cheated on finds out and gets hurt. From what I saw, the husbands never found out. I don't like NTR either, so I thread a very small needle based on these factors: the husbands aren't there, and the protagonist is actually a nice guy. This game has that.
Secret Wives' Club has a special stat system that changes based on how the protagonist romances these women. If they're gentle or rough, those stats will change, which I thought was interesting.
The second game in the bundle is Pick Me, Honey! by Trabulance. This one is more light-hearted, and has a harem. Here's the plot:
My name is Reiji Oshima, an average Japanese student. I've got a problem -- I'd really like to find a girlfriend, but I'm surrounded by beautiful girls who seem intent on keeping me from getting romantically involved with someone. Then on my birthday, my father makes an announcement: I am to take over the family business, but before that day I must choose a wife from among the beautiful girls in the room. According to Japanese law, a man can only marry one person, but in Japan's past it was common for men to take a wife as well as several concubines. But which girl will I choose for my wife?
And so the battle for my heart begins, with childhood friend Hazuki, charming and pure Chihiro, elegant Mio, cute Futaba-sensei and totally grown-up Yoriko all vying for my love by cooking, cleaning, and doing anything they can for me. It's a breathtaking battle of love, and my life is good!
This one has no complex system, as far as I saw. Make your choice and live with it, which I like. Sometimes, simplicity has its own charm.
Overall, the Secret Wives' Club + Pick Me Honey! Bundle Pack is good value, and both have their own versions of waifus. Each game is about $10 each, and the bundle is $20, but this 5% off coupon can bring that number down: MOE-39U-89AGL6.
