To be clear, I’m not talking about writing for this particular blog. I’m talking about writing raw, unfiltered, unprotected sex scripts for games, audios, comics, etc. If you would have told me I’d be writing a script for a sex audio as a side job a few years ago, I’d probably of killed myself before reaching such an unpromising future. But since I was blindsided by the opportunity, here I am, ready to talk about what it’s like to write for one of these projects. It certainly has its ups and downs, and I’m here to ask and answer the question: is sex writing a dream job?
Virginity
Man, let’s be honest, if you’re writing a sex script for anything remotely involving hentai or Japanese culture, chances are you’re gonna be a virgin. That’s definitely the case for me, and that results in quite a few situations where I have no idea if what I’m writing is correct or realistic at all. “Oh yeah baby...rub your fat ankle all over my raging cock” that’s what people with foot fetishes sound like in real life, right? Obviously the difficulty of the lines depend a lot on what fetish is on the table and what characters you’re working with and that can really fuck you up if you’ve never heard anyone lay down in reality. However, the good news is that not many others seem to have it figured out either. Most porn videos (and doujins too) have dialogue that no one in a million years would say while fucking. So even if you have no clue, the industry standards are so low and normalized that very few Chads will have the knowledge to call you out for it baby.

Arousement
By far the hardest part of the gig for me is trying to stay focused. You’re sitting there, trying to think up the hottest shit possible to write for the client, and all you can think about is fucking. Now you’re in a catch 22. You can fap to relieve your self-concocted sexual tension and gain focus, but you’ll lose interest in the writing because there’s typically not much happening besides sex. On the other hand you can withhold the urge to fap thereby holding your interest and motivation high, but making progress will be difficult with the distraction. Personally, I banned myself from the fap method. I tried it once, but attempting to write about sex after resetting my libido back to zero was one of the most boring acts of my entire life. Think of it like starting one of those hour long porn videos, cumming at 20 minutes, and then having to sit through the other 40 minutes before you could leave. I’ll suffer through taking twice as long to come up with lines as long as I’m still engaged in what I’m working on.
Creativity
A lot of these projects will have outlines. I’ve seen several occasions where the client has a clear outline of the characters and scenarios they’d like to see written out and are looking for someone to execute them. On the bright side you basically act like a builder. You analyze the blueprint, see what they want for the end product, and make it happen. On the dark side, you may not have much creative liberty. Writing nothing but sex sounds amazing when you’re horny, but eventually you might realize “oh shit… writing the same shit all the time is kinda repetitive.” Storycrafting is fun due to foreshadowing, character arcs, metaphors and other devices but when the outline is “go from Joe has sex here, to Joe has sex there.” you’re cut off from messing around with those devices too much.

Jokes aside, I wouldn’t have killed myself if I saw the future years ago. I probably would have thought “Oh my god, I get paid to just write about people fucking?! That’s it! The best career ever!!!” and I don’t mean to downplay that. When a scene comes up with characters I’ve spent time trying to make unique, I’m ready to spit out some hot dialogue and have fun. But after a good fap or two you realize there’s more to writing than the same outcum everytime. Is sex writing a fun side hustle? Absolutely. Is it something I think people would love to death and should attempt to make a career out of? No, it just seems too stagnant. Even sex gets old.
