Hello. Once again, here I am giving you unsolicited facts that may or may not ruin your doujin viewing pleasure. This time, let’s talk about another taboo, incest.
Let me say this right from the start: INCEST IS DEFINITELY NOT WINcest! Unlike other taboo like anal and lolicon, this genre is straight up bad, with some science (biology, or more likely, genetics) to back up people’s claims. Before we talk about incest, let’s compare it to the other mentioned taboo, anal and lolicon.
In anal, as long as if done correctly, is a pleasurable experience that doesn’t have any consequence in the future. Lolicon, on the other hand, is a fantasy. It doesn’t involve another person to begin with, as a lolicon would almost always prefer his (or her, in case of shotacons) 2-D waifu (or husbando, for the ladies) over real people.
Incest, ladies and gentlemen, is something entirely different. Let’s start with its meaning.
Incest (in’-sest) – is a prohibited sexual relations between members of the same kinship group.
It comes from the Latin word “castus” meaning “chaste” and the prefix “in” meaning “not.”
Now, what’s so bad at some intimate loving between siblings or other family member, some incest defender may ask. Well, not only is it immoral, it also has a consequence in the future. One of the biggest concerns of incest is inbreeding.
Both genetics and history can provide solid facts in regard to this. Let’s look at Charles Darwin and his first cousin Emma Wedgewood Darwin. The couple had 10 children. (I’m guessing Charles is horny as f@#%, or that condom hasn’t existed yet.) Three of his children died at a young age. From the seven that lived, three were infertile. Charles thoroughly recorded his children’s health and cross-referenced it to his studies regarding inbred plants. He later investigated his family tree and found incestuous marriage between the Wedgewood clan and the Darwin clan. This led Charles Darwin to believe that their incestuous past led to his children’s health issue.
Another example of inbreeding is the House of Habsburg.
This family tree looks more like a web than a tree.
All these incestuous relationship gave birth to this person.
The physician who performed his autopsy stated that his body "did not contain a single drop of blood; his heart was the size of a peppercorn; his lungs corroded; his intestines rotten and gangrenous; he had a single testicle, black as coal, and his head was full of water.
However, in terms of morality, people are split regarding the issue. There are some people who view incestuous relationship as immoral while there are others who think that such relationship is not inherently immoral.
“CONSENSUAL incest is not wrong.”
This argument, if I may oversimplify, means that if that the two persons consented to the deed then, what they did is not wrong. The use of contraceptive negates the adverse effects of inbreeding.
Let’s have some example.

This, this is wrong. Excluding incest, what happened here is straight-up rape. There is also the issue of the emotional trauma that was inflicted on the poor girl. In contrast, we have:

Despite being consensual, in my opinion, this is also wrong. A lot of complication arises in this sort of relationship, complications that are a concern the characters have as well.
Another example is 32 Nichime no Black Summer. Here, some people may argue that incest is consensual and therefore, not wrong.
In the end, whether incest is bad or not in real life, doujins and hentai are work of fiction that can be enjoyed knowing that no real brother and sister, parent and child were directly harmed in its creation.
