Hentai Doujins so Offensive These Artists Got Death Threats
By Kasaix • 6 years ago

Let me start off by saying that we here at Doujins do not condone death threats in any shape or form. If you hate something, that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion. You can even vent that opinion on the internet, that's what it's there for. However, openly threatening someone related to that thing you hate in indefensible. Send a message with your criticisms if you must, but threatening the life of someone is wrong, and legally reprehensible.

With all that said, mangaka, regardless of their content, get death threats. It's sad, but true. Here are three such instances of ero mangaka who have received death threats, and the reasons, however wrong, for those threats.

1. Saikawa Yusa a.k.a. Abgrund

From what we can tell, she had been receiving death threats for years, even from other authors and artists. The reason? Drawing traps. After 2012's C82, she intended to cease drawing traps to appease these awful individuals. It should be noted that apparently a few of these fellow artists and authors were known for drawing lolicon work.

From her Twitter:

""I didn't say clearly but I am going to stop drawing traps. This comiket will be the last one. This is because of harassment from 同業者(meaning people from the same trade, probably referring to other doujin artist), as well as terrifying email like this (referring to death threat email)"

"I have been receiving threats and harassment for years. I thought everything would be fine if i took my work seriously enough. But I can't take it anymore"

"♡usa♡三日目A-13b ‏@uuussaa
"I know there are more supporters out there than people with malicious intent. I believe I can meet expectation regardless of type of content"

"I will not make a reply (to death threat email). I am not giving up drawing based on this one email, but because of the stress that has built up over time that has affected my heath. I will no longer read such emails. If the threats get serious I will contact authority."

2. Asanagi a.k.a. Shindol

Submitted without further comment. Link to the specific Tweet HERE, and Asanagi's brilliant reply HERE.

Asanagi's Tweet:

"When I woke up in the morning, the first comment in twitter was not any impression/thoughts about my newest publication, but rather a death threat. How sad."

Death threat:

"I despise Asanagi (the artist) from the bottom of my heart, so I feel that killing (Asanagi) is just. But if I do, then I'll get arrested by the police and I don't want that. But to begin with, I've been thinking of suicide as for late, so if I decide to do so in the end, I'll do it after killing Asanagi. That will make me really happy and there will no regret left. Actually I think killing (Asanagi) as soon as possible is the best, but seriously Asanagi, go kill yourself. I think it's right to kill Asanagi. How does it feel when your parents laugh at you and say "scum like you can't ever be a manga artist"? Isn't it frustrating after you worked so hard? In the end everything just doesn't work out and your life is nothing but an obstacle. Live, live until you grow old and die. And that's where your limit is, Asanagi. You can even have the option of me killing you. I am a foreigner (as in non-Japanese person)."

Asanagi drew fan art of this angry person, seen here:

3. Takotsuboya

All we can find out right now is that Takotsuboya has received death threats sometime around 2012, but we're quite confident TK is quite all right. The most likely reason is due to the soul-crushing darker stories in his doujins.

People are indeed entitled to their own opinions, but there lies a responsibility to voice them in a proper manner. Death threats are an example of what not to do. Do you know of any other hentai mangaka who have recieved such threats? Let us know in the comments below.
