Reason 1,000,000 why it's cool to be a gamer: our stuff is damn near bulletproof. This was proven just a few days ago when Eric Gan's monitor suffered a flesh wound by random shots fired in a drive-by. In an incredible twitter thread starting HERE, he details everything that happened, the police's own report on the matter, and how the company that made his life-saving monitor stepped up.

At 4 AM, some random jackass at a party fired five rounds into his house. Police reported that there were no casualties, and that the gun used .25 caliber ACP rounds. The life-saving monitor is a 27-inch MSI Optix G27C2. In an act of pure awesome, MSI reached out to offer a free monitor and other stuff. I mean, there's no better PR and advertisement than one of your products stopping bullets. That monitor still works, by the way. It took bullets and it's still running.

I think we all need an MSI monitor in our lives. It apparently stops bullets and keeps working afterwards.
