Cowboy Bebop Director's New Series: Carole & Tuesday
By Yung Namahage • 5 years ago

Known for works like Samurai ChamplooSpace Dandy, and of course, Cowboy Bebop, Shinichiro Watanabe is a bit of an auteur who isn't afraid to show his influence from western movies and music in his anime. His next series, Carole & Tuesday, looks like his most adventurous work to date.

Like a few of his other works, C&T is sci-fi and has a strong focus on music. Carole is a musician on Mars in an age where the music industry has a heavy reliance on artificial intelligence, losing that all-important human touch. She meets Tuesday, another aspiring musician, and the two join up to bring soul back into music. It all looks pretty wholesome and heartwarming, but the most important aspect is that, for the first time in anime history, all songs will feature English vocals from western singers. Check the trailer below and have a look for yourself.

Carole & Tuesday will be coming to Japanese Netflix on April 10, and will hit the west sometime later this year. What do you think of its use of Japanese dialogue contrasting with English in the songs? Wll you be checking it out? Sound off in the comments below!
