Coronavirus Sets Its Eyes On Spring Anime
By WakeUpSnooze • 3 years ago

A while back I did an article talking about some major anime that were canceled due to issues with production thanks to the coronavirus. For some reason, my dumbass thought “makes sense, those anime haven't started airing yet” as if once an anime airs, they won’t cancel it. I guess I was thinking that if an anime is airing, all of the episodes are already most likely done or close to complete. Recently more news has come in to blow that retarded theory right out of the water. Many anime that already started airing for spring have decided to postpone further episodes.

This includes some big names like Food Wars: The Fifth Plate, One Piece, Sword Art Online, and Pokemon. But then COVID said “nah fuck that, that’s not enough. Who still watches SAO?” It then proceeded to delay a lot of other anime like No Guns Life Season 2, the SNAFU comeback, A Certain Scientific Railgun T, and recently The Millionaire Detective: Balance Unlimited. There’s an article that’s keeping a compiled list of ALL the anime and movies affected by the pandemic so you can check that out here if you’d like.

I tell you what, I wish a lot of these announcements would have happened sooner. I just picked up The Millionaire Detective thanks to a recommendation from Kinky, and I was starting to really enjoy it. Now I learn that shit’s about to be sent to the shadow realm for a while after three episodes. Honestly I wished some of these series took the “just delay it” route like No Guns Life. My memory is shit enough as it is, and it sucks that I’m now three episodes into a couple anime and have no idea when they’ll be coming back to continue airing. My ass can barely remember shit when it ends properly with a season finale, let alone cutting it off abruptly after three airings. I guess at the end of the day though that’s merely a first world problem.

Man, Daisuke WOULD be the one to cuck me.

Have any of your anime been delayed? Should we expect more and more anime to postpone? Is canceling altogether better than airing a couple of episodes and then stopping? Put your mask on and share your thoughts below.
