An Interview with Dovoros

Kasaix: Hello Doujin Army! I’m here with another truly talented artist, the one and only Dovoros! I’ve been following his work for quite some time, and finally decided to reach out for an interview. I’m really glad he agreed to it. Dovoros’s art is great, and really unique. The style leans western, not like anime-style, but it’s really good. The girls are all cute and sexy, and they have curves for days.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. Thanks for taking the time to hang out. How’s it going, Dovoros?

Dovoros: Hi everybody, Hello Kasaix, thank you so much for this, and thanks for all the readers.

Kasaix: Let’s start at the top, could you tell me how you first got into art?

Dovoros: Well, since I was a child, with 2 or 3 years, I used to make some disasters in my house, with crayons, lipsticks or paints on every wall of the house. So my parents always brought me a piece of paper to do my job, that's how all started.

Kasaix: Did you go to an art school, or are you all self taught?

Dovoros: I never went to an art school, I just used to draw on all the boring classes since school. Practically I used to draw all day… Thanks to Akira Toriyama and the Dragon ball Series I never was the better student but at least I did all my homeworks.

Kasaix: What are your favorite characters and themes to draw?

Dovoros: My favourites themes to do is the fantasy ones: Monster girls, dragons, angels, demons. I love to do horns tails, wings, scales, all kind of supernatural stuff.

Kasaix: Do you have any original characters?

Dovoros: God, A LOT of them, since 2003 (or before I guess) I can count more than 50 characters with a backstory for almost each one. but my favourites ones are 4 of them:

One called "Anger" who is a kind of grim reaper girl. She is my loved girl

"Slay Drag" An demon avenger. (each artist have an edgy character and this is My Edgy one)

"Keira Yen" is a demon girl who looks like a sexy angel with purple wings

and “Layla” A Nephilim, one of my current characters.

Kasaix: What do you feel is your best picture yet, and why?

Dovoros: I have done a lot of artworks in the lasts 3 years, but my favourite is a really old one of my girl Anger. I think this is the picture with more hours of my life doing all those details, and after years… I still loving the picture.

Kasaix: Where do you get the inspiration for your projects from?

Dovoros: My inspiration come from other artists I follow with nice ideas and great level, the videogames and series that I usually watch every week is a good source too. And my girlfriend helps a lot with other kind of stuff.

Kasaix: How long does it typically take you to finish a project?

Dovoros: Usually less than a day, between 6 to 8 hours due to I really love to finish all the artworks as fast as I can, so when I sit for working in a picture I can be there for long time really focus in my job.

Kasaix: Is there a project you'd really like to work on in the future?

Dovoros: Well I'd like to work in a video game someday, something with action, specifically in a kind of 2D hack-n-Slash like

Kasaix: What setup do you use to draw?

Dovoros: Actually I’m using a wacom cintiq 13 hd, I always wanted a tablet with screen and I save my money for years only for getting one. and it was completely worth it. Since I bough it, I’m very happy working with that tablet, is amazing. but before buy it I just worked on my old wacom bamboo and a Genius tablet for many years.

Kasaix: Where does your username come from?

Dovoros: I just pick the name of one of the characters I created, Dovoros. He is like a fusion of other three characters
