As the anime fans we are, we have probably seen our fair share of maid cafe centered episodes or maid cafe shows in general. Blend S is the recent example I can think of. The concept of a girl “willing” serving you as her master, while wearing a short maid outfit is truly a wonderful fantasy.  But there are many different cafe’s out there to help fulfill all different otaku needs, not just the maid loving ones. And here of some you can find in Tokyo.

Maid Dreamin

 Now for all us maid cafe virgin, this cafe may be a good first choice. It’s a mega-chain with branches all throughout Tokyo. (Think  McDonalds) With the theme simply being girls in maid outfits that serves you, it makes it a perfect starter before going into the more crazy stuff.

Little TGV

This one isn’t crazy but it sure is different. When I said “different otaku interest needs” I meant it. If you’re one of those rare train otaku’s, Little TGV is the place for you. Serving food in little train plants, beverages named after Japan’s train routes, and waitresses dressed as train stewardess. This place is a train otaku’s wet dream.

Alcatraz E.R.

If you were stuck wondering, “where is the best place to take my Yandere girlfriend out to eat on the first date.” then look no further my good sir. When entering, you’ll be greeted by a skeleton skull, handed blood stained menu's, and remember to watch your step, because they’ll be dead bodies laid out on the floor. (Fake ones of course) And who can forget the drinks that comes in a severed human head. Yummy. The girl are dressed in crazy nurse outfit which adds to the erotic and psychotic atmosphere of the place. But don’t stare at the lovely ladies too much, your girlfriend might just kill’em!

Hibari-Tei

Now this is a maid cafe for your boy Kinky. It’s a maid cafe where your servers are crossdressers. Since maid cafes are so big in Japan, it’s of best interest to find a gimmick that help yours stand out from the other competitors, and crossdressing is one of them. For such a niche gimmick, it’s actually quite popular. The owner claims that it’s a hit with they guy. Male customers stating that it’s more relaxing and easier to talk to the maids when they're guys.

Cos-cha

A favorite amongst people, this does more than just the maid theme, it’s also school themed. With doing elaborate group costumes, an example would be “school swimsuit day”, which is ofcourse one of the more popular ones. Just look a happy the man is in the picture.

Nagomi

I bet you always wanted me calling you “Onii-chan” in the comments? Well sorry, that’ll never happen, but these girl will. With the  theme being a big brother one, you can have your own little sister maid serve you, even if she’s actually older than you. With them having different moods to fit different customers likings. You have energetic, bossy, cute, heartless, and uninterested. It’s a real life Blend S.

Swallowtali Butler Cafe
