This is not an April Fool’s joke, this is actually a thing. If you’re a part of the FGC, you’ve most likely already heard of the Alex controversy. Hell, if you’re into video games you might have heard about it also. I was super excited to see Alex in Street Fighter 6, since he’s one of the cooler looking grappler characters in my opinion. But all the coolness got sucked right after him once his story mode ending was revealed.

That’s right, it’s official. It’s canon that Alex fucks, and impregnated his cousin. This was a shock to many Street Fighter fans, and Alex fans. And I know if I was a huge Alex fan, I wouldn’t be taking the news good either.

But then, you have people who know nothing about Street Fighter, or even in the fighting game community, weighing in with their opinion. 

Now my opinion on this matter is that I’m happy for the change. It’s not like I’m against this kind of story telling. Hell, I watch anime, and incest relationship isn’t rare in many of anime series. But it feels more normal in most of those shows, but in Street Fighter, and for Alex, it felt like it came out of nowhere. It's just making his lover his cousin didn't add anything to his story. And people trying to make this a whole “ not understanding Japanese culture” debate, are idiots. If Alex's story ended with him shooting Ryu, I would think that shit was stupid and needed to be changed as well. It’s not completely just cause it’s incest, it’s cause it just doesn’t really make sense, or add anything his overall character.

So I feel like changing it is overall a positive. And I feel like most of the people fighting against it don't even play Street Fighter, or fighting games for that matter. Not sure why people would be fighting so hard for incest. But I guess when the cousin's pussy is that good, it’s hard to hold back.
