I know people are mad at US based anime voice actors, they can seem annoying and entitled sometimes. Especially Paimon’s English VA recently. But I can promise you that AI voices are not the future. An example of this is how Chinese anime, Super Cube, tried to be cheap and use AI voices to give themselves an English dub.

No lip syncing, not completely translated, awkward delivery, it’s all around a complete train wreck and unlistenable. And I already know what you AI bros are going to say, “but Kinky, that’s the point of AI. It learns and gets better over time.” Well my homie, I don’t want to wait for these fucking robots to get better and start using my voice to falsely get me in trouble. I’m still waiting for the fucking AI Google Lens to get better and actually finding what the fuck I’m looking for.

If you want to be lazy and use AI for everything, then that’s on you. If we keep going at this paste, we’re actually going to be a civilization that doesn't communicate or interact with other human beings. Just think about going to a con to get your anime figured signed by your favorite voice actor, only for it to be some fucking computer. If we try to remove the human aspect of everything because it’s cheaper or easier to produce. We’re going to also cheapen the human experience that we have because of the lack of human interactions needed, and make it easier for us all to be shut off from one another.
