Nintendo's Weird New Cardboard Cutout Accessories, Coming 4.20
By Kasaix • 6 years ago

Do you remember those little cardboard face-mounted theaters for iPhones? They were kind of cool. But Nintendo has taken the concept to th next level with their new Nintendo Labo.

Due to hit shelves April 20, 2018 and coming in the Robot Kit and Variety Kit for $79.99 and $69.99 respectively, they are not simple coardboard sets. As an accessory device for the Nintendo Switch, and coming packaged with Switch software, they can be used to interact with various games in an entirely new way. Seen off to the side, you wear a cardboard backpack and control a giant robot on the screen with your hand and arm movement translated seamlessly on-screen.

Just as impressive is a cardboard piano making actual music with each tap of the key. Given it's small size,  you can finally feel like you're in a Peanuts musical number.

It doesn't look very easy to put together, given various wires and rigs needed to get everything to work, but it's Nintendo, so we're certain the intructions will be easy enough for small children to understand. All said, we here at Doujins are quite interested in this new cardboard fun kit that will allow us to destroy buildings as giant robots, fish, and ride on a motorcycle.

Will you be picking up these kits for the Switch? Let us know in the comments below.
